I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with the Alzheimer's Association for the past 2 years through the Caring to Remember supporter event that I co-host in NYC. I work with Heidi Nigg's husband at iES Corp. - an energy management firm in NYC's real estate industry - and she and I decided to join forces in December 2014 to start a fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association in NYC where iES Corp. is headquartered. There are many causes which are supported throughout the NYC Commercial Real Estate ownership & management industry but Alzheimer's disease was not one of them. Heidi's personal story of being a caregiver of her father with Alzheimer's and seeing that every 66 seconds someone is diagnosed with the unimaginable disease; it was certainly time we did something to help. Throughout the past 2 years, I have met such extraordinary people who have personally been affected by Alzheimer's and who have joined the awareness crusade to fight this dreadful disease. I am proud of our amazing team for raising almost $100,000 in just 2 short years and look forward to continuing our mission to help with this incredible movement that will hopefully one day result in a world where Alzheimer's is a thing of the past.
