I became involved with the Association first as a professional social worker who saw families struggling with this Disease in the 1980's.I started a support group and got involved in the Association. Then my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and I became an advocate and served on the board from 1994-2000. I served as the board president from 1999-2000. I have participated in many walks, speaker's bureau and still facilitate a support group. Finally I helped care for my father when developed Alzheimer's several years ago until his death in 2015.
