I am committed to support those who have been touched by the disease and to help in the fight in the hopes of creating a world without Alzheimer's. My first exposure to Alzheimer's disease was when I was in college and my Grandmother got very ill. At the time I did not understand what was causing her to be so different from the person that I knew. It was very scary as I watched her become someone that I did not recognize, her body was the same but she was not. The blessing for her and our family was that her journey was very short given her other health challenges, only because the experience was so painful. Living through that experience left a lasting impression on me that motivates me with the drive to want to focus on making a difference.
