“It’s not going away hence it deserves the most attention our world can give it.”
Alzheimer’s is an overwhelming disease which affects the person with the disease, the family and caregivers. It’s not going away hence it deserves the most attention our world can give it. As a daughter, I watched my Mom deteriorate, reach a new level only to continue to decline year after year. I watched my mom die twice. As a nurse care manager I encounter Alzheimer’s and dementia daily, I make it my personal challenge to assist whenever, wherever I can to positively impact the lives of the clients and families who face this difficult disease . I try to combine personal experience with my educational background to ease the challenges they face. Without a prevention, treatment or cure, our nation as a whole needs to pay attention.
